As an experienced Draftsman, I have the capability of drawing a variety of different
aspects of construction. Whether it is a preliminary design drawings that are just a
thought in the back of your head, to a full set of construction documents that will help you
and your contractor understand the project clearly.
As a consultant on your project we would start by sitting down and finding out what your
ideas are for your project. That includes figuring exactly what your needs are and what
our restrictions are for the project. Then we move into the design phase. This is when I
take all of your ideas and go back to the “drawing board”, so to speak. I start drawing
out floor plans, exterior elevations, site plans, etc., all while thinking about the many
different aspects of the project including: Mechanical, Structural and Electrical. Then we
would have a design meetings to work out any questions or concerns about your project.
Our main goal is that we design a building that meets the limitations of your particular
project and one that meets all your Design goals!
When we are all finished I will have provided you with a descriptive set of construction
documents that typically include some or all of the following drawings: Site Plan,
Foundation Plan, Main Level Dimension Plan, Upper Level Plans, Roof Plan, Exterior
Elevations, Building Sections and Details.
Education
As a student, I Received a Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing Technology while also
receiving an Associates Degree in Architectural Drafting @ Black Hills State University
in Spearfish, South Dakota.
Upon Graduation I went right to work for William’s & Associates Architecture. My starting
duties consisted of basically assisting the Architects with the drawing of construction
plans that would filter through the office. The more experience that I received the more
responsibility was given to me. At the end of my tenure at the firm I was managing the
design of projects, as well as performing the construction management duties in the field
while projects were being constructed.
Since the start of my business in April of 2004, Plans In Action – Drafting and Design
has provided construction documents for a variety of projects. Please check out a few of
our most recent. I have had the opportunity to meet some really great people as well as
increase my knowledge in the construction industry.
